General Motors, commonly referred to simply as GM, was formerly called General Motors Corporation. It was ranked the world's largest automaker by sales in 2011. Founded in 1908 by William Durant in Flint, Michigan, General Motors was originally a holding company for Buick, which produced horse-drawn vehicles. Within a year, the company had acquired Oldsmobile, Cadillac, Oakland, Elmore and Pontiac, among others. Today, GM brands include Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac, Vauxhall, Holden and Opel. General Motors also owns OnStar, a company that provides vehicle safety, information services and security to drivers.
What to Expect When Interviewing
The majority of applicants that interview for a position with General Motors report a positive interview experience. Cashier
Cashiers must keep the customer at the center of all that they do. Cashiers must run fast and efficient cashier operations with friendly customer service. Cashiers also need to be knowledgeable about the store, its merchandise and services offered.
Overnight Replenishment Associate
Job responsibilities require that Associates replenish and relocate merchandise both on and off of the sales floor. Organize and maintain areas of the stockroom according to Kmart policy, and process inbound and outbound freight. Due to the late hours, applicants will need to consistently be available for overtime shifts for this position.
